Ok, let me have a look at this. Been getting logged out too.

Edit: should be okay now - but users may have to re tick the box the next time they land on the forum.

On the 18th and 19th June 2011, you may have experienced disruption to your web and email services.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Investigations reveal that it was a combination of network and server issues that eventually led to the disruption of the web and email services. On the network front, investigations are still ongoing. On the server front, the issue was related to the backup system in the server. Part of the backup system prolonged the booting up process. The contributing factor in the backup system was identified and has been rectified.

We apologize again for the inconvenience caused. We thank you for your understanding and patience.

Whenever I login I get redirected to the main page, as with b4 if I wanted to reply to a topic and I was signed out I used login and then get directed to the posting page for that topic.

Internal Server Error 500
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

The issue will be at the hosting end and support will be looking into this as soon as possible.

I'll look into this at some stage. Hopefully it's easy to fix.

So looks like perhaps a memory problem with the new or temporary server.

Yes I had been planning to do it for a while! Went digging for old EQ threads but there were next to none from 2003/2004. Compared to these days it's crazy.

I don't 'love it' but a good idea considering the amount of seismic activity occuring over the recent year.
However, is it doubling up on the seismic/volcanic topics in the "Off Topic" section ?

Why does it say page expired on back button when no furthur text has been added? Is it because its viewed and the hit counter increaes?

No further text where? In the reply box? What browser are you using?

Updating again to the latest phpBB3 release, 3.0.9 now... so hopefully this will fix that redirection problem.

Trying to log in here from uni, every page turned up a 500 error, except the home page. No problems getting in and posting when I tried again 5 mins later though.
