Easter pictures will be up early next week.

This photo was taken from Te Atatu looking toward the Auckland Isthmus. Freash updraught on the side of a mature thunderstorm (note anvil behind).
Storm would have been over the Remuera area. Sea breeze convergence here.

Towering cumulus taken from the roof of my house. Photo was taken late in the day. This cloud developed into an intense thunderstorm as it moved SE into the Waikato. I observed lightning well into the night with flashes every 2-3 seconds at its peak. The developing Cumulonimbus can be seen in the image below against the setting sun. I wished i had chased this storm, it turned out to be a beauty. NZ Herald reported one Waikato location as recording 80mm in less than an hour.

This thunderstorm rapidly developed over the Western Suburbs of Auckland. Note the smoke plume at the bottom of the photo. The NE breeze was feeding into the storm. Winds behind where a westerly sea breeze. Hense convergence zone here. The image below was taken just a few minutes later. The anvil from this storm eventually covered the whole of Auckland.

Thats enough from me.
Cheers
