This is annoying matt why do you have to post bollocks on this forum there is nothing in the news in NZ or Australia about any tornados.
Also the fact you said there was a tornado in Hastings and $90million dollars worth of damage and then you post in the general weather section saying an F8 tornado  hit near Ballina and the cost was $800million dollars.
This is the kind of stuff we don't need on here  i am sure others will agree with me.
Anywho some welcome rain here today 16mm in the gauge has stopped now but looks to be falling inland from here at the moment.
Was not cold atleast on 15C and a light southerly.
Cheers
Jason.

Other forums I am a member of wouldn't stand for that. Matt would be shown the door and banned. Give yourself an uppercut pal.

No post he ever makes has credibility as far as I'm concerned. :x

Good riddance! Indulgence can only go on so long. Even allowing for his age, he needs to grow up a bit before risking making himself a public nuisance again.

Warm night here on 19.1°C, and work was an absolute sweatfeast. :o

Dewpoint got up to 20°C today.

Will be pretty sultry again tomorrow with daytime heating giving way to heavy showers. :)

Thanks admin, it was a bridge to far that one

On to issues at hand....standing by for that convergence line, although I suspect the best of the action for AK won't be till the new low tomorrow through to Sunday?

Yeah I noticed some models are going for 80mm+ for a large area of the Northern North Island and Northern South Island over the next 7days, this rain must be most welcome in most of those areas, if not all? Forgive me for not using the regions names, though the only one I know and can spell properly is Northland. :)

Is it quite an unusual event to have such a trough just sit over the same area for so long? It seems they usaully just hang around for a few days before moving on, though this one doesnt want to go anywhere in a hurry.

That'd be the fohn effect of a northeasterly on the southwestern North Island. Another unusually humid day in Chch - had a brief shower just before 1pm, but I can now see blue sky to the east/southeast. :)

I see a thunderstorm over the Gisborne area. The only TS over NZ so far today which doesn't suprise me as the upper air is so warm.

The trough approaching northern NZ looks quite active.
