Looks like a similiar temperature will be reached here again today, depending on when the southerly change arrives, fine and warm at the moment, scattered cloud.Hosing down in Dunedin,so maybe the change will be sooner than later.

25% chance of a thunderstorm/hail on the southerly change over South Canterbury this afternoon. But may be too dry if that Nwester is blowing. :)

Michael, there would have been a few 26C days in Feb despite the rainy month. ;)

Back from Hanmer. Not so warm up there as what I thort it may of been but quite pleasant anyway.
Another dry southerly change around 4pm here in ChCh cooling the temperature and clearing away what was a semi-unstable sky.
quite boring really :(
should be more dry southerlies this week as the anticyclone edges slowly towards us :(

A couple of small thunderstorms this afternoon off the North Otago coast with the change. But the dry NW'ester knocks the stuffing out of the front over Canterbury as usual. :)

The southerly change pretty much fizzled out over Canty. As John said, the 'semi-unstable' clouds cleared away. Coming back from the peninsula about 7PM, I could see what possibly could've been shower activity in the direction of Ashburton, but the 3PM radar showed nothing more than some light showers about the Rakaia mouth, and the 6PM radar showed nothing (apart from the regular blue patches about the mountains - obviously an error in the radar). Clear in Chch now.
