Hi Will,

One of the things I'm noticing has changed with phpBB3 is links to the net. Previously with ver 2 they opened in a new window, but now the existing window leaves the forum and goes to the link.

I've looked and can't find a setting to adjust this.

Could you please see if it's an admin setting you can adjust.

You need to have "Num Lock" turned on, hold down the "Alt" key, key in the 3 digit code with the numeric keypad and then let the "Alt" key go.

Personally I use 248 as it's an easier to remember number.

Might have to wait for the gold release then...

I have just made it so users can only post one nested quote at a time... saves scrolling down an entire post field just to see the actual content and reply.

It's not really a huge drama, I'm getting used to it. Of course all you have to do is hold the Shift key down when clicking on the link and it's business as usual.

Done a couple of upgrades today and have solved the problem so links will be opened externally.

Thanks for the bug report... I just updated it to RC7 as they cocked up RC6.

But, hmm i've never seen a 405 error upon attatchment... I'll look into it.

There is one problem (ihmo) in forum search engine. I made a try to search all the topics which are consist "lightning" or "thunderstorm" strings. But I've got the following error report:

The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: lightning.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards.

Having adjusted the common word threshold down to 0% it still isn't working, so will try a fix later on.

For the moderators/Foggy (site admin?):
DST ending doesn't seem to be working on the times for postings? You may have already noted this...was reading a post on rain in the NI for today and saw the post time of 16:34...didn't seem quite right as it was only 15:34 according to my watch, computer, etc...

I've enabled avatars for those that want one.

Maximum size constraints are 80 X 80 pixels and 30kb in file size, though you can also remotely host one.

If you don't want to view other people's avatars, you can disable the option by going here and selecting it 5th from the top.

Still trying to work this out with the phpBB community, but it is possible...
In the meantime i've now got a 'welcome PM on first logon' MOD installed which asks the newbie to enter their location into the profile.

And it looks like i'll have an automatic fix to that annoying DST changeover issue in a few minutes too.
