Atmosphere over the Tasman Sea is marginaly unstable. Should see some decent cb blowups out there in the coming days, which will eventualy affect NZ.(hopefully) :?

There are Thunderstorms just East of OZ of this morning. :)
There is cloud and rain on the way but it looks like the High to the East of NZ will provide some blocking.

Wednesday should see some Thunderstorm activity, esp. in Waikato! :D
WeatherOnline doesn't have it forecast for Auckland yet.
btw, these forecasts are better than MetServices. Honest.

there is rain way to west on the rain radar now
but there has been a big low blow up real quick way to the east....either that will block ofr squeeze out the high....i.e the barometer is still 1026, and yet there is this upper level trough heading our way....
the low off auzzie is still winding up :)

Shouldn't that read effect Northland /Auckland etc as we'll just get this boring anticyclonic gloomy, drizzly rubbish down here from along the Canterbury Coast for the next week (and beyond??!!)

To be exact, here's that link of the New Plymouth Anvil Crawlers: :D

Thanks Steve W! Quite cool with the mammantis.

What is the exact link of these weather online forecasts for NZ?

And yes John, alot of rubbishy crud all along the coast here, although today is showing some patches of blue ;)

Also, got my photo from THE PRESS, pretty awsome! Better than the on paper copy obviously. Framed and sitting on my wall. :)

BlueSkies are forecasting a warm WE next WE :)
Hope so :(
Might get something going, as long as these cumbersome highs don't hang around...
...but mind you it's April

Wednesday will see heavy showers and thundertorms, trust me. Effecting Auckland southwards to New Plymouth with the static stuff. :D

Sun trying to break through the thick layer of highcloud. right now I want it to rain hard tonight.

With a High sitting just out to the East of NZ and Low pressure to our West the resulting N-NE flow will ensure we have a week of average to above average temps. :D
There are plenty of Thunderstorms in the mid Tasman Sea at the moment :D but we are likely to get just light to moderate patchy rain reaching NZ.

By WE you must mean Weekend. Yes, looks like NW conditions possible.

That low cloud will come back in on Ch tonight.

Moderate rain over Auckland but a clearance in the west. If this upper trough moves east of us this evening, it will move back in tomorrow. It will get so far and then start moving backwards. :)

yeah, blue skies out to west of us here....
i see it activated a bit over the papapkura/hunua area....

i see more cloud now to the north of northland.....
so, maybe it will activate more tomorrow...as the low in the tasman gets closer...and the jet stream coming off australia fingers closer too!

That artist has got style :D

The upper air is starting to look unstable. (NZWP 1200Z). Could be some heavy showers about northern areas today with a low risk of thunder.
