WM-918 For Sale

Unread post by Gary Roberts »

I've just been e-mailed this link if anybody is interested (eyeeye?)

http://weatherstation.netfirms.com/phpB ... .php?t=414

I suspect it's most likely in Australia (FreeWX and its creator, Andy Keir, are both Australian, as is much of the FreeWX userbase).

Thanks for that Gary,

I've taken the plunge and order a La Crosse 2305 which should be delivered soon.

Just to add that John Perry has approximately 500 brand new WM-918's (in original boxes) he's currently selling for NZ$200 each (+freight) if anybody is interested.

I think that site definitely falls into the "a little too much information (at one time)" category! :-)

Yeah, I realise, but putting everything on one page...shudder...just because you can, doesn't mean you should...I pity the poor dial-up user who visits that site...

the site comes in fast enough!
the web table is text, that loads straight away, and the images are gif, small in size, and come in pretty fast

I think maybe I've encountered too many websites by Frontpage 101ers, plastered with Flash and DHTML, and eyeball scorching to llook at. And of course, they only seem to work in IE, a lot of them. Some have criticized the Observatory website for being way too simplistic, but the fact is it is displayed correctly by every browser out there, including Lynx.

Somebody recently sent me a link to a site which displayed the most beautiful weather graphic I've ever seen. Tasteful, elegant -- a real work of art. But it still took far too long just to find the information that mattered. All I want to see is the data. I don't need to see dials and flashing lights, no matter how pretty. Just gimme those numbers, man! :-)
